The Residency Training Program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a two-year subspecialty program that is fully accredited by the American Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Three residents per year are accepted into the program.

During the first year of their child psychiatry training, residents work on an acute inpatient unit for children and adolescents for 8 months.

They participate in a number of outpatient clinics at USF and participate in a CBT clinic at the Rothman Center in St. Additionally, residents satisfy their training requirements for pediatric neurology during the first year.

Second year residents also see patients at an outpatient substance abuse treatment center and a community mental health center.

The Tampa Residential Facility (TRF) is a 60-bed residential program for high-risk boys, ages 14 to 18, who are in need of comprehensive mental health services.
