MA candidates who are native speakers of English must have a minimum of four developmentally consecutive semesters of the same second language at the college level (or the equivalent).
This second-language requirement may be met in residence, but courses taken to fulfill it will not count toward the degree.
Admission Requirements Applicants must have at least 30 semester hours in language, literature or related courses, with at least 20 credits in upper-division courses.
It is highly recommended that applicants have at least one course in a literary figure and one in an upper-division linguistics course.
Assistants receive about $9,000 over two semesters and full tuition remission for up to 9 credits per semester.
